Quantum Technologies During the Swedish Royal Couple’s Visit to Warsaw University of Technology

Warsaw University of Technology hosted the Royal Couple of Sweden—King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia. The visit took place as part of the “Scaling Innovation for Europe: Sweden and Poland in Partnership” conference, dedicated to fostering cooperation between academia, industry, and public administration to build the European innovation ecosystem.

Demonstrating Innovations and Quantum Technologies

During the event, numerous projects developed by student research groups at Warsaw University of Technology were showcased, including race cars, robots, water turbines, smart clothing, and advanced electronics.

Among the featured solutions was an interactive demonstration of a qubit—the fundamental unit of quantum information. We had the opportunity to co-create this presentation space and demonstrate how practical laboratory setups can make the principles of quantum systems accessible and engaging.

Strategic Importance for European Science and Industry

Quantum technologies are becoming a key strategic priority for the advancement of science, industry, and technological sovereignty in Europe. Building expertise in this domain requires strong collaboration among universities, deep-tech companies, research institutions, and the public sector.
